Knowledge session

Your schools have plenty of data: in the pupil tracking system, in surveys, in Excel. The question is what you want from it and who has the time for it. In a knowledge session TRIPS works that out together with your board, based on your own questions.

What data-informed working means in practice

‘Data’ sounds like something for specialists. But data is no more than information, and in this case information about your schools. Data-informed working means that you use that information to see what works, in the classroom, at school and at the board, and base your choices on it. The judgement stays with the teacher and the school leader; the data shows what the conversation should be about.

In the knowledge session the participants look from their own work at which questions they want to see answered with data and what that requires. That applies to teaching, but just as much to operations, ICT, premises or HR.

After the knowledge session:

  • you know what data-informed working means in concrete terms for your organisation;
  • you know what it delivers in the short and the long term, and what it asks of people and time;
  • you have a first list of questions your team can get started with.

Practical details

  • For whom: board members, school leaders and staff for quality, ICT or HR from one school board.
  • Duration: one to two hours.
  • Format: on site at the board, with a coach from TRIPS.
  • Cost: expect about € 250.

What TRIPS does

TRIPS connects a school’s source systems and brings the data together in one environment, visualised at class, school and board level. That lets you see the quality of the organisation from different angles, without anyone having to tally by hand.

Good data is a precondition for that. In the programme we first map out what your school already records well and what it does not yet. After that a fixed TRIPS coach guides the team until it works with the data independently. That makes improvement lasting: something the team keeps doing, even when we are no longer there.
